WEEKEND BITS – LINKS I LOVE

Early spring bulbs are starting to push through the ground here in Kansas City.  And even though I woke this morning to a dusting of snow on the ground, I’m dreaming of color in the garden and landscape. Unfortunately the rule of thumb in these parts is that you wait until Mother’s Day to plant, when the threat of frost is over.  To tide me over, I like to plant a few herbs in pots on the baker’s rack in my kitchen.  To get you started, here are some tips on how to grow herbs indoors.

We’ve all been there.  You get the phone call that a friend (or God forbid the in-laws) plans to drop by your house unexpectedly.  Your house looks like FEMA needs to be called in so what do you do?  This post on how to fake a clean house will help you be visitor ready in 20 minutes.

Add a coral blazer over a t-shirt, pair it with jeans and you’ve got a polished, spring look.  Here is my favorite “look for less” that gets you there for under $30.

I’m always looking for different salad ideas so I love this link of top salads to take to work.

Typically Easter decor draws from a pastel palette but if you’re in the mood to mix it up a bit this year, check out this black and white Easter tablescape.

The perforated look is a big trend this spring.  If you missed my post on how to add holes to your wardrobe, you can read it here.

Happy Sunday!
